Graveside services will be Monday, June 17, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter. Richard Dale Norton was born on November 15, 1934, in rural Trenton, IA, to Floyd and Gladys (Bain) Norton. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. Dick and Beverly Engwall were married on February 7, 1954, in Aledo. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2020. Dick was employed with Contel Telephone for many years. After retiring from Contel, he became the Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Aledo and also proudly implemented the 911 system for Mercer County.
